Wedding cakes are a very important part of any wedding celebration. It has been said that the wedding cake decision is second in importance only to the decision of the dress. For my own personal wedding, I had four different types of cake and my table centerpieces were small wedding cakes. It was pretty clear to everyone, I kinda love cake.
Wedding cakes, to me, are an honor to create. It is an absolute treat and treasure to be given the opportunity to make a cake for a couple’s wedding day. I offer a variety of options to suit every bride and every budget. Wedding cakes are a minimum of $400 and go up depending on size, filling, frosting and how elaborate the design. Just like the perfect dress, a wedding should have the perfect cake. From vanilla cake covered in rolled fondant and fresh flowers, to the unique and very on trend naked cake filled with fresh fruit and dusted in confectioners sugar, every bride deserves to have a wedding cake that matches the one in her dreams.
That’s not to say grooms aren’t special, we don’t forget the guys here at Short Girl Cakies. We do grooms cakes as well. If you haven’t heard of a groom’s cake before, its a southern tradition that has taken the north by storm. The wedding cake or “bride’s cake” usually is very elegant, delicate, floral or feminine. The grooms cake, however, is the man cave of cake. Ranging from sports themed to having stout beer filling, the grooms cake is usually a more unique and personalized cake. I’ve had many brides surprise their grooms at the reception with a special cake just for them with the old English D or a Star Wars theme.
